Dishpatch - Print Design

Print Design | Brand Identity | Packaging Design

Dishpatch is a meal-kit delivery service with an edge, bringing food from the world’s best chefs and the country’s top restaurants to your door. Their roster boasts the likes of Ottolenghi, Andi Oliver, Michel Roux Jr. and Tom Kerridge to name just a few, placing them firmly at the top of the food chain in high-end restaurant delivery services. As Dishpatch continues to grow, so does its reputation and audience, with its partners spanning farther reaches of the country and more chefs beginning to take note of the impact this can have on their own branding campaigns.

I have been designing for Dispatch for the past two years. Maintaining and upholding their brand across print and marketing assets. The business’s main demand is for instruction booklets to accompany their carefully curated menus. These booklets have developed a lot over the course of my time at Dishpatch, from designing logotypes for each menu name to focusing more on Dishpatch as its own brand that doesn’t need to rely on its partners for respect. With each season comes a new rebrand for the menus and new campaigns to factor into the designs.

Dishpatch’s brand is built off a love of food, with a colour palette curated from iconic shades of pesto, dhal, mustard and nutmeg and a typographic style reminiscent of vintage cookbooks and luxury dining. I take pride in upholding this brand in every flourish of the print design so that their menus reflect their ethos with consistency and flair. The print design relies on immaculate typography skills and attention to detail with subtlety and balance at the heart of my work, carefully typesetting and arranging large amounts of information in these recipes.

The team at Dishpatch has welcomed me as a long-standing cornerstone of their process and championed my work ethic and efficiency in design. I pride myself on knowing my role inside-out so that my work remains fluid and effective on a consistent basis. Since our collaboration, we have successfully rebranded the print collateral three times, launched several seasonal campaigns as well as saved the company thousands in costs by developing an in-house printing operation with custom-designed print documents.

Words from the Dishpatch team

  • “Charlie's work is truly excellent and our customers often comment on the quality of our leaflets. He is very efficient and a good communicator which is very important to us with fast turnarounds needed for many of our instruction manuals. He recently worked on rebranding the booklets and has also reformatted all menus to align with a new printer, the new design is fantastic and the formatting is saving us time and money in printing costs. Charlie is diligent, professional and a pleasure to work with. "
